In case we haven’t told you, we have been approved by Cliff’s work to take 2 months off this summer, starting on June 24th!  Insert woo-hoos, Yeehaws, and cartwheels here!

We’re going to cross the Rockies to the Pacific and then return.  I originally embraced the idea that if we just had a rough route, we could fill in the details as we go along.  And I still do…but now with the caution that comes from experience!  So, there will be more planning involved.

A couple weekends ago we drove up to Indiana Dunes.  We arrived after dark, with no reservations.  We did, however, experience a magical moment on the beach!

I know it’s dark, but it’s the only visual remnant of the exhilarating experience!

The next 2 days…

You are about to witness something frustrating…

Along the way, something got wedged in our pantry, and the sliding door wouldn’t open!  Which means our food is inaccessible!  You are viewing the high-tech way of extracting such an object.  Cliff had a camera & light at the end of a long cable, which was attached at the other end to his laptop.  So, the kids are all looking at an image of a small can of tuna which is stuck in an indentation in the pantry.  Cliff spent a lot of time trying to dislodge the pesky can, but in the end…it was a powerful burst of anger which triumphed.  Yay!  Now we can eat breakfast!  Obadiah celebrated by eating the tuna.

We also took a jaunt into Michigan to cross that state off our list!

As you can see, we tend to dine at swanky places.  Time to hook up and head home!
